He began his violin studies at the age of five. Seven years later, he entered the Conservatory of Music of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, under the tutelage of the outstanding German violinist, Heike Scharrer. From an early age, he excelled in the childrens and youth environment at a national level in various gatherings, festivals and musical contests. Then at the age of 16, he won the Jorge Peña Hen scholarship, the highest distinction awarded by the “Fundación de Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles de Chile (FOJI)”. It was from this momento that Armando decided to dedicate his life to playing music professionally.
