Curtis on Tour
Curtis on Tour is the Nina von Maltzahn global tour initiative of the Curtis Institute of Music.
Based on the school's "learning by doing" philosophy, it provides students with real professional tour experiences, along with alumni and celebrated teachers. In addition to performing on stage, the musicians offer master classes, interactive programs, and community involvement activities. Curtis on Tour also allows for
solo performances by Curtis students and alumni with professional orchestras and concerts. Since the program was established in 2008, students, alumni, and faculty have performed in more than 300 concerts in more than 90 cities in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. This year they return to Latin America in a very particular combination: Roberto Díaz, violist and president and executive director of the Curtis Institute of Music, George Xiaoyuan Fu, pianist, former student of Curtis and currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London and Tania Villasuso, clarinetist, second year student of Curtis and also in his spare time, enjoys electronic engineering and competitive cycling.
